Is more than one memory function operating improperly?

Test the ground circuit of the Memory Function Switch for an open.

Is the ground circuit OK?

  1. Disconnect the memory function switch connector.
  2. Test the resistance between the memory function switch ground cavity and the appropriate switch cavity.
  3. Press the suspect memory function button.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the LH front power window switch connector.
  2. Perform the appropriate test:
  3. • Memory 1: Measure the resistance between the appropriate memory function switch connector cavity and the LH front power window switch connector cavity.
    • Memory 2: Measure the resistance between the appropriate memory function switch connector cavity and the LH front power window switch connector cavity.
    • Exit: Measure the resistance between the appropriate memory function switch connector cavity and a good ground.
  4. Operate the suspect memory function button.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the LH front power window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the LH front power window switch. Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement in Doors.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the memory function switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?
