Did you perform A Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems

1. Connect a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine Off.
3. Read the current personalization setting for the automatic door lock mode. Refer to Power Door Locks Operation for a description of mode functions.
4. Close all doors and shift out of park, shift into park and turn ignition switch off.

Do locks operate as expected for mode selected?

Go to Symptoms

Go to Step 3

With the scan tool, retrieve the status of the each Door Ajar Switch inputs from the driver door module Inputs list.

Do all doors indicate OFF (door closed)?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

Replace the remote function actuator. Refer to RFA Module Replacement in Keyless Entry.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 5

Close all doors and shift out of park, shift into park and turn ignition switch off.

Do doors lock and unlock when shifting?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 9

Was lock on leaving PARK and unlock on returning to PARK the mode selected for the personalization settings as read in Step 2?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 7

1. Connect a scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine Off.
3. Enter the personalization menu and set the driver lock options to the same as read in Step 2.

Go to Step 9

Test for and repair short to ground on the door ajar switch circuit of the suspect door(s).

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
