Did you perform the Theft Deterrent System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, command the security indicator ON through the remote function actuator (RFA) module.

Does the security indicator illuminate?

  1. Turn Off the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the RFA module.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Using a 3 amp fuse jumper wire, jumper the security control indicator circuit to a good ground.

Did the SECURITY indicator illuminate?

Test the security control circuit of the RFA module between the RFA module and the Instrument Cluster for an open circuit.

Inspect for poor connections at the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
