Did you perform the Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With the scan tool, observe the Key-In-Ignition parameter in the Remote Function Actuation (RFA) data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Key-In-Ignition parameter is Yes?

With the scan tool, observe the Key-In-Ignition parameter in the Body Control Module (BCM) data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Key-In-Ignition parameter is Yes?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the key-in-ignition switch connector.
  3. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit of the key-in-ignition switch and the ground circuit or the key-in-ignition switch.
  4. With the scan tool, observe the Key-In-Ignition parameter in the Remote Function Actuation (RFA) data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Key-In-Ignition parameter is Yes?

Test the key-in-ignition switch signal circuit for an open, a short to voltage, or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the key-in-ignition switch ground circuit for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the chime control circuit for an open, a short to voltage, or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
