Did you perform the Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module connector.
  2. Leave the key out of the ignition switch.

Is the Key In Ignition Warning Chime on?

Go to Step 3

Test the chime control circuit for a short to ground.

Did you find and correct the condition?

  1. Leave the remote function actuator disconnected.
  2. Measure the resistance from the RFA module connector (key-in-ignition terminal) to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value with the key in the ignition and infinite ohms with the key out of the ignition?

5 ohms

Test the key-in-ignition switch signal circuit for a short to ground.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the key-in-ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Replace the RFA module. Refer to RFA Module Replacement in Keyless Entry.
