Compact Disc (CD) Skip

The compact disc (CD) player has a shock absorbing system. The compact disc player should only skip or mute under extremely hot operating temperatures, or severe shock or vibration. If the customer travels on abnormally rough roads, a skip condition may be normal. Test drive the vehicle on a normal road with a known good CD. If the condition is still present, replace the CD player. Refer to Radio Replacement or Remote Compact Disc Player Replacement .

Compact Disc (CD) Player Error or Ejects

    • Inspect the CD for scratches or smudges. Clean the disc if necessary.
    • Verify that the CDs and/or the CD magazine are loaded correctly.
    • Verify that the compact disc player door is closed.
    • During periods of high humidity, the CD or the CD player lens may become temporarily fogged. Warm the CD player and the CDs in order to evaporate the moisture.
