Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn on the left turn signal.
  3. Observe the LH turn indicator on the instrument cluster.

Does the LH turn indicator operate properly?

Does the LH front turn lamp operate properly?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn on the left turn signal.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Lt. Turning Signal Sw. parameter in the Instrument Panel Cluster data list.

Does the scan tool display On?

Test the signal circuit of the LH turn indicator for a high resistance or an open between the instrument cluster (IPC) and the splice.

Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the IPC. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
