Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the lighting control module (LCM)
  2. Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to the high beam input circuit at the lighting control module connector.
  3. Operate the high beam switch ON and OFF.

Did the test lamp turn ON and OFF with the high beam switch?

Go to Step 7

Test the high beam input circuit for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Test the high beam switch ground circuit for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the headlamp dimmer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the headlamp dimmer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.

Did you complete the replacement?

Inspect for poor connections at the LCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Replace the LCM. Refer to Lamp Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?
