Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Do the park lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 3

  1. Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to the headlamp switch input circuit at the lighting control module (LCM).
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn ON the headlamps.

Does the test lamp illuminate with the headlamp switch?

Go to Step 9

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage (B+) to the headlamp switch input circuit at the headlamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Turn ON the headlamps.

Does the test lamp illuminate with the headlamp switch?

Go to Step 5

Repair the open or high resistance in the headlamp switch input circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the headlamp switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the headlamp switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Inspect for poor connections at the LCM connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the LCM. Refer to Lamp Control Module Replacement .
