Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the Lamp Control Module (LCM).
  2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition power feed circuit at the LCM connector and a good ground.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Connect a DMM between the twilight enable input circuit at the LCM connector and a good ground.
  3. Vary the twilight delay control from MIN to MAX.

Does the resistance vary within the specified range?

3.5K ohms-200K ohms

  1. Cover the ambient light sensor.
  2. Connect a DMM between ambient light input circuit at the LCM connector and a good ground.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

31K ohms

Expose the ambient light sensor to a bright incandescent light.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

23K ohms

Repair the open or short to ground in the ignition positive voltage input circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the twilight enable input circuit for high resistance, short, or open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ambient light sensor input circuit for a open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
