  1. Connect a test lamp between the variable dimming output circuit at the panel dimming module connector and a good ground.
  2. Turn ON the park lamps.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Turn OFF the park lamps.
  2. Disconnect the panel dimming module.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the park lamp input circuit at the panel dimming module connector and a good ground.
  4. Turn ON the park lamps.

Test the ground circuit of the panel dimming module for high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the dimming input circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
