  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Place the courtesy lamp switch in the OFF position.
  4. With a scan tool observe the Courtesy Switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

With a scan tool, observe the Auxiliary Lighting parameter in the BCM data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

  1. Close all of the doors.
  2. With a scan tool observe all the Dome/Buzzer Sw. parameter in the driver door module (DDM) data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status for all doors?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the Courtesy Switch parameter in the BCM data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

Test the courtesy lamp switch input circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the headlamp switch harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

With a scan tool, observe the Courtesy Lamp Output parameter in the remote function actuator (RFA) module data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the RFA module connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool observe the Auxiliary Lighting parameter in the BCM data list.

Does the scan tool display an OFF status?

Test the auxiliary lighting input circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  2. Disconnect the appropriate door lock actuator.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the scan tool display the suspect door Dome/Buzzer Sw. status as OFF?

Inspect for poor connections at the connector of the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement or Rear Side Door Latch Replacement in Doors.
