Impotrant:: In order to execute the HVAC Recalibration command, the scan tool disrupts keep alive memory (KAM) causing DTC B1652 (Loss of KAM) to be set as history.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Use the scan tool in order to clear the current and history DTCs in Heating and Air Conditioning.
  4. With a scan tool, perform the HVAC Recalibration command in Heating and Air Conditioning Special Functions.
  5. With a scan tool, observe the current DTC list in Heating and Air Conditioning.

Does the scan tool display DTC B1340, B1341, B1343, or B1344?

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Min Left Temp Dr Pos and Max Left Temp Dr Pos data parameters in the Heating and Air Conditioning data list.
  2. Subtract the Min Left Temp Dr Pos from the Max Left Temp Dr Pos.

Does the result of the calculation indicate that the actual travel of the left temp door is within the specified range?

152-250 Counts

Go to Step 4

Go to Heated Air Inoperative

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Min Right Temp Dr Pos and Max Right Temp Dr Pos data parameters in the Heating and Air Conditioning data list.
  2. Subtract the Min Right Temp Dr Pos from the Max Right Temp Dr Pos.

Does the result of the calculation indicate that the actual travel of the right temp door is within the specified range?

130-250 Counts

Go to Step 5

Go to Heated Air Inoperative

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Min HTR/DEF/AC Dr Pos and Max HTR/DEF/AC Dr Pos data parameters in the Heating and Air Conditioning data list.
  2. Subtract the Min HTR/DEF/AC Dr Pos from the Max HTR/DEF/AC Dr Pos.

Does the result of the calculation indicate that the actual travel of the HTR/DEF/AC door is within the specified range?

210-250 Counts

Go to Step 6

Go to BI-Level Inoperative

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Min Air Inlet Dr Pos and Max Air Inlet Dr Pos data parameters in the Heating and Air Conditioning data list.
  2. Subtract the Min Air Inlet Dr Pos from the Max Air Inlet Dr Pos.

Does the result of the calculation indicate that the actual travel of the air inlet door is within the specified range?
