Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  2. Remove the brake pads from the brake caliper bracket.
  3. Remove the brake caliper bracket bolts.
  4. Remove the rear brake caliper bracket from the lower control arm.

Installation Procedure

Important:  Apply a few drops of GM Loctiteâ„¢ (or equivalent) to the threads of the caliper anchor bracket bolts before installing or replace the bolts with new pre-coated bolts.

  1. Install the caliper anchor bracket to the rear lower control arm.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the brake caliper bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear brake caliper bracket bolts to 124 N·m (94 lb ft).

  5. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
