- Remove the key from the
ignition switch.
- Connect the right side air bag yellow connector (1) to
the vehicle harness yellow connector (4) located under the passenger
seat.
- Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the right side
air bag yellow connector (4).
- Connect the left side air bag yellow connector (1) to the
vehicle harness yellow connector (4) located under the driver seat.
- Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the left side
air bag yellow connector (4).
- Connect the IP module
air bag yellow connector (2) to the vehicle harness yellow connector (1)
located above the right sound insulator.
- Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (4) to the
IP module yellow connector (1).
- Install the right sound insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Right Side
in Instrument Panel,
Gages and Console.
- Connect the steering wheel
module air bag yellow connector (4) to the vehicle harness yellow connector (3)
located next to the steering column (2).
- Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (1) to the
steering wheel module yellow connector (3).
- Install the left sound insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
in Instrument Panel,
Gages and Console.
- Install the SIR fuse to
the underhood fuse block.
- Staying well away from all air bags, turn the ignition switch
to the ON position.
| 13.1. | The AIR BAG warning lamp will flash 7 times. |
| 13.2. | The AIR BAG warning lamp will then turn OFF. |
- Perform the SIR Diagnostic System Check if the AIR BAG warning
lamp does not operate as described. Refer to
Diagnostic System Check - SIR
