The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

As part of our ongoing quality improvement efforts regarding new technology, Engineering has asked to be involved whenever a Vehicle Direction Alert Alarm Warning (also called Lane Departure Warning) module requires replacement. In order to accomplish this, the VDAAW module will be placed on restriction through the PQC. Your cooperation with this program is greatly appreciated.

Effective Tuesday, October 9, 2007, the following part numbers will be restricted:

P/N 25866197

P/N 25866198

P/N 25901038

P/N 25901133

Recommendation/Instructions:

Please complete the following questionnaire before contacting PQC at 1-866-654-7654.

Vehicle Direction Alert Alarm Warning Module Questionnaire

  1. Customer Complaint (as it reads on the RO):
  2. Is the VDAAW (LDW) module communicating with GMLAN?
  3. Is "Service Lane Departure Warning" or "Lane Departure Warning Unavailable" displayed on DIC?
  4. If yes, provide DTC codes:
  5. If no, does the system turn on when the engine is in "run" power mode?
  6. Is the windshield clear of obstructions? (i.e. snow, ice, mud, dirt, bird droppings, stickers)
  7. Is the module mounted correctly?
  8. Is the bracket flush to the windshield?

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
