   •

Many GM carlines utilize either an I/P, Rear or Underhood mounted Electrical Center (EC) and/or an Integrated EC (IEC) that combine the BCM functions with the external fuses and relays of an electrical center. Some dealers are returning ECs to the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) that have the fuses and relays removed from them.

   •

All service ECs, even those with integrated fuse panels, come complete with all required fuses and relays required for installation on the vehicle right out of the box.

   •

Removal of the fuses and relays from the original EC prior to return to the WPC severely inhibits the ability of the assembly to be tested by General Motors for failure analysis. Fuses and Relays should not be removed nor disturbed past what is required for diagnosis when returning the EC.

Important: This is especially critical on vehicles that have recently been launched and are in the 100% warranty parts return process.

   •

Regional Feedback Reports and debits will occur if the components are removed from the EC prior to return. As a general practice, all warranty parts should be returned to the WPC in the same configuration as the new service part.
