Deletion of the Front License Plate Bracket
Important: Elimination of the front license plate bracket will be phased in at the start of the 2006 model year. DO NOT attempt to order this bracket as a product shortage and error claim (GMP 57) or as a warranty item.
Effective with the 2006 model year, vehicles shipped to dealers in Canadian provinces that do not require front licence plates will no longer be shipped with the front license plate mounting bracket in the vehicle. If the customer requests a front license plate mounting bracket, it can be ordered as a free flow option (RPO VK3) or as an SPO accessory at point of sale for all vehicle lines.
Trade-Ins, Dealer Trades, and Used Vehicles
If a dealer obtains a vehicle from a province that does not require front license plates, but the receiving dealers province does require front plates, the receiving dealer will be responsible for the cost of supplying the front license plate mounting bracket.
