Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 292114  Size: SH
  3. Remove the seal from around the heater core and the evaporator tubes.
  4. Remove the upper HVAC evaporator case screws.
  5. Separate the HVAC evaporator case halves.

  6. Object Number: 292069  Size: SH
  7. Remove the evaporator core.

Installation Procedure

  1. Add the proper amount of refrigerant oil to the evaporator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .

  2. Object Number: 292069  Size: SH
  3. Install the evaporator core into the module housing.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the upper HVAC module case.
  6. Install the upper HVAC module screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  8. Install the seal over the heater core and the evaporator pipes.
  9. Install the HVAC assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
