Removal Procedure

Air ventilation is supplied through the following components:

    • A grille panel
    • A heater/air conditioning module

The heater/air conditioning module is located in the plenum chamber.

Air passes through the body and exits through the pressure relief valves. The pressure relief valves are located on the rear body lock pillars. Refer to Pressure Relief Valve Replacement in Body Rear End.

  1. Raise the hood.
  2. Remove the wiper arm assemblies.

  3. Object Number: 306349  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear hood seal.
  5. Remove the push in/screw retainers.
  6. Remove the right hand wiper transmission bolts under the panel.
  7. Lower the right hand wiper transmission drive shaft.
  8. Disconnect the washer hoses.
  9. Remove the air inlet grille panel (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the washer hoses.
  2. Partially install the air inlet grille panel (1).
  3. Install the wiper transmission bolt under the panel.
  4. Install the wiper transmission bolts through the grille panel.
  5. Install the air inlet grille panel.
  6. Install the wiper transmission bolts through the grille panel.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the push in/screw retainers.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  10. Install the rear hood seal.
  11. Install the wiper arm assemblies.
  12. Lower the hood.
