Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Head Up Display (HUD) System Check

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster C2.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Turn the HUD control switch to the OFF position.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance from the instrument cluster 22-way connector C2, terminal A7 and ground.

Is the measured resistance greater than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 3

Inspect CKT 1675 (BRN) for a short to ground.

Is the wiring OK?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the short to ground on CKT 1675 (BRN).

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Replace the HUD control module.

Is the replacement complete?

--

  1. Connect a fused jumper to the instrument cluster 22-way connector C2 from terminal A7 to battery voltage.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Turn the HUD control switch to the ON position.

Does the CHECK GAUGES indicator turn on?

Inspect for poor terminal contact at instrument cluster 22-way connector C2 terminal A7.

Is the terminal contact OK?

Repair the poor terminal contact.

Is the repair complete?

Service the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

Use a J 39200 in order to measure the voltage form the HUD control module connector terminal 6 and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 13

Inspect CKT 1675 (BRN) for an open.

Is the wiring OK?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Go to Step 12

Repair the open in CKT 1675 (BRN).

Is the repair complete?

Inspect for proper terminal contact at the HUD control module connector terminal 6.

Is the terminal contact OK?
