J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
  2. Remove the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
  4. Remove the garnish molding, lower pillar. Refer to Lower Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement.
  5. Remove the lower trim panel from the center pillar. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
  6. Remove the quarter lower trim. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.

  7. Object Number: 900768  Size: SH
  8. Using J 38778 remove the push-in retainers which position the carpet on top of the rocker panels.
  9. Remove the carpet from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 900768  Size: SH

    Warning: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

  1. Position the carpet in the vehicle. Reach under the carpet and feed the following connectors through the slits in the carpet where required:
  2. • The power seat adjusters
    • The seat belt pretensioner connector
    • The seat belt warning wire connector
  3. Install the push-in retainers which hold the carpet on top of the rocker panels.

  4. Object Number: 320787  Size: SH
  5. Carefully insert the carpet underneath the pedals.
  6. Install the quarter lower trim. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.
  7. Install the lower trim panel to the center pillar. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
  8. Install the garnish molding, lower. Refer to Lower Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement.
  9. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
  10. Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  11. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
