Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 164809  Size: SH
  4. Remove the accumulator bolts (131).
  5. Remove the manual  2-1 band servo cover bolts (103).

  6. Object Number: 97365  Size: SH
  7. Remove the accumulator assembly.

  8. Object Number: 164811  Size: SH
  9. Remove the manual  2-1 band servo (106-116).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 164811  Size: SH
  1. Install the manual  2-1 band servo (106-116).

  2. Object Number: 97365  Size: SH
  3. Install the accumulator assembly.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 164809  Size: SH
  5. Install the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts (103).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the accumulator cover bolts (131).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  9. Install the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  12. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions .
