J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the screw cover on the inside door handle and remove the screw.
  2. Remove the arm rest pull cup cover (1).

  3. Object Number: 325947  Size: MH
  4. Remove the armrest pull cup screws.
  5. Starting at the door bottom, use the J 38778 to release the door trim panel retainers.
  6. Lift the trim panel up to release the top edge and move it away from the door.
  7. Using needle nose pliers, compress the plastic connector on the door handle cable end from the door panel.

  9. Use a flat-bladed tool to spread the power window switch retainers and remove the switch from the door panel.
  10. Remove the rear door trim panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the trim panel by the door. Press the power window switch into its installed position.
  2. Connect the door handle cable to the door handle.
  3. Position the top of the trim panel at the window opening and press down.
  4. Align the fasteners into the holes in the door metal.
  5. Firmly press the door panel to seat the fasteners.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the armrest pull cup screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  9. Install the armrest pull cup cover (1).
  10. Install the door handle screw.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  12. Press the screw cover back into its installed position.
