Circuit/System Description

B+ is supplied to the engine mount solenoid. When in drive the electronic brake control module (EBCM) monitors engine RPM on the serial data circuit and activates the engine mount vacuum solenoid when engine speed is below 1200 RPM to reduce engine vibration.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Engine running.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • Short to ground or an open/high resistance on the B+ circuit.
    • Open/high resistance on the control circuit.
    • Calibration is not programmed in the EBCM

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Deactivates the engine mount vacuum tank solenoid

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

When the conditions for setting the DTC is no longer present.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the engine mount vacuum tank solenoid.
  2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
  3. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test or replace the engine mount vacuum tank solenoid.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 1 and the B+ circuit terminal 2.
  5. In Drive, verify that a test lamp turns OFF when the engine speed is above 1200 RPM.
  6. If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  7. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the engine mount vacuum tank solenoid.

Component Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the engine mount vacuum tank solenoid.
  2. Test for 25-34 ohms between the control terminal 1 and the ignition terminal 2.
  3. If not within the specified range, replace the engine mount vacuum tank solenoid.
