Inspect the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp bulb filament.

Is the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp bulb filament open?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp electrical connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK position to the RUN position.
  4. Turn the instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch to the DOME position.
  5. Connect a test light between the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp harness connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Replace the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp bulb.

Connect a test light between the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp harness connector terminal A and terminal B.

Does the test light illuminate?

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 1732 between the courtesy/reading lamp and S386.

Has the repair been made?

Connect a test light between the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp harness connector terminal A and terminal C.

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 157 between the courtesy/reading lamp and S387.

Replace the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp assembly.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and the components that you removed.
