Check the fuse B3-B4 in the fuse block.

Locate and repair a short to ground in circuit 41.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Disconnect the rear temperature actuator electrical connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Use a digital multimeter (DMM) to measure the voltage between the rear temperature actuator harness connector terminal 10 and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

9-14V

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 41 between S233 and the rear temperature actuator harness connector terminal 10.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Use a DMM to measure the voltage between the rear temperature actuator harness connector terminal 8 and ground.
  2. Vary the rear temperature knob from full cold to full hot.
  3. Check if voltage varies between 0.5V and 4.5V.

Does the voltage vary?

Replace the rear temperature actuator. Refer to Temperature Actuator Replacement .

Check for a poor connection or open in circuit 2214 between the rear HVAC control assembly harness connector terminal G and the rear temperature actuator harness connector terminal 8.

Is there continuity in circuit 2214?
