Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 363798 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.
  2. With a grease pencil, mark the position of the hood latch to the hood latch support bracket .
  3. Remove the bolts from the hood latch.
  4. Remove the hood latch from the hood latch support bracket.

    5. Object Number: 363788 Size: SH

  5. Important: Do not crimp the hood latch release cable.

  6. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the cable retainer and position the cable aside.
  7. Remove the hood latch from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the hood latch release cable to the hood latch.

    2. Object Number: 363798 Size: SH
  2. Position the hood latch to the marks on the hood latch support bracket.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to the hood latch.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hood latch bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Adjust the hood, as required. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
  5. Close the hood.
