Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 15977  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the ignition control module electrical connectors.
  2. Note the position of spark plug wires for installation and disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coils.
  3. Remove the ignition coil screws.
  4. Remove the ignition coils from the ignition control module.
  5. Remove the ignition control module from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ignition control module to the bracket.

  2. Object Number: 15977  Size: SH
  3. Install the coils to ignition control module.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the ignition coil screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

  7. Connect the spark plug wires as noted during removal.
  8. Connect the ignition control module electrical connectors.
