Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood using a grease pencil.
  3. Remove the Assist rod from the hood. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement

  4. Object Number: 317815  Size: SH
  5. Remove the hood hinge to hood bolts, with an assistant.
  6. Remove the hood from the vehicle, with an assistant.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 317815  Size: SH
  1. Position the hood to the vehicle, with an assistant.
  2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the hood hinge to hood bolts, with an assistant.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the assist rod to the hood. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .
  7. Adjust the hood, as required. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
