Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement Non-folding

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 508346  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear seat back nuts from the child seat latch bracket.

  4. Object Number: 508231  Size: SH
  5. Grasp the bottom of the rear seat back and lift upward to disengage offsets on the upper frame bar from the hangers.
  6. Remove the rear seat back from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear seat back to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 508231  Size: SH
  3. Hook the seat back upper frame to the hangers on the rear shelf.

  4. Object Number: 508346  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the rear seat back nuts to the latch bracket.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .

Rear Seat Back Cushion Replacement Folding

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear center seat belts. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Center Rear in Seat Belts.

  3. Object Number: 807772  Size: SH
  4. Remove the nut (1) from the child rear seat latch bracket.
  5. Remove the bolts (2) from each end of the latch bracket.

  6. Object Number: 508362  Size: SH
  7. Fold the rear seat back cushions down.
  8. Remove the bolts from the rear seat latches.
  9. Remove the rear seat latches from the rear seat back.
  10. Fold the rear seat back cushions up.
  11. Reposition the shoulder belts from the rear seat back.
  12. Remove the rear seat back from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear seat back to the vehicle.
  2. Reposition the seat belts to the rear seat back.

  3. Object Number: 807772  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   4. Apply a thread sealant, GM P/N USA 12345382 Canada 10953489, Loctite 242, Permatex 24200 to the threads of the bolts (2) and also the stud for the latch bracket nut .
  5. Install the child seat latch bracket nut (1).
  6. Install the child seat latch bracket bolts (2) to each end of the latch bracket.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and bracket nut to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear center seat belts. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Center Rear in Seat Belts.

  8. Object Number: 508362  Size: SH
  9. Fold the rear seat back cushions down.
  10. Install the rear seat latches to the rear seat back.
  11. Install the bolts to the rear seat latches.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Fold the rear seat back cushions up.
  14. Inspect the rear seat for proper operation.
  15. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
