Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement LH

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

1. Use the J 38778 in order remove the LH instrument panel (IP) insulator retainers from the steering column opening filler panel.



2. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the IP insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.



3. Remove the LH IP insulator from the stud at the accelerator pedal.
4. Remove the LH IP insulator.

1. Position the LH instrument panel (IP) insulator to the IP.



2. Install the courtesy lamp to the IP insulator then rotate 1/4 turn clockwise to secure.



3. Install the LH IP insulator to the stud at the accelerator pedal.



4. Install the LH IP insulator retainers to the steering column opening filler panel.

Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement RH

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

1. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the RH instrument panel (IP) insulator retainers.
2. Adjust the carpeting for access.



3. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the IP insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
4. Remove the RH IP insulator.

1. Position the RH instrument panel (IP) insulator to the floorpan beneath the IP.



2. Install the courtesy lamp to the IP insulator then rotate 1/4 turn clockwise to secure.




Important: Make sure that the RH IP insulator does not block the floor heater outlet.

3. Install the RH IP insulator retainers.
4. Return the carpet to the original position.
