REVISED POWER STEERING ADJUSTMENT AND INSTALLATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1980-83 'X' SERIES 1982-83 'A' SERIES 1982-83 'T' SERIES THE FOLLOWING REVISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE RACK BEARING INSTALLA- TION PROCEDURE ON ALL 1980-83 'X', 1982-83 'T' SERIES VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH POWER STEERING. AFTER INSTALLING THE RACK BEARING, TURN THE ADJUSTER PLUG CLOCKWISE UNTIL IT BOTTOMS, THEN BACK OFF PLUG 1/8 TO 1/4 TURN (45 DEGREES TO 90 DEGREES). THE TORQUE ON THE PINION MUST BE CHECKED AND SHOULD NOT EXCEED 25 IN LBS. (2.8 N.M).
