The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Dealers seeking technical support and/or replacement of XM™ Digital radio receivers must ensure the XM™ system is factory installed (U2K) or an OEM GM approved kit.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Dealers should first check GM VIS to verify it the vehicle build is showing RPO U2K for the factory installed XM™ receiver. The GM factory kits will not show in GM VIS but can be identified by checking the type of antenna used. GM factory kits will use the same antenna as factory built vehicles. GM TAC is only able to assist with the diagnostics and repair of OEM installed or approved kits. Both factory and OEM kit replacement Digital Radio Receivers are not on part restriction (effective 08/01/2007) and can be ordered directly from the local exchange center.

All other GM non-approved after market kits in need of technical support, sales, warranty and/or installation questions, etc should contact Satellite Radio Direct (SRD) at 888-964-2279.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
