Description

Engine Hot Lamp

Dash Lamps

The Powertrain Control module (PCM) illuminates the hot coolant indicator when you select On. The hot coolant indicator will remain illuminated until commanded Off.

Fans Low Speed

Fan Relays

The scan tool displays a Commanded State of None, Off or On. This allows you to communicate with the PCM and activate or deactivate the cooling fan 1 relay, manually turning the low speed fans On and Off.

Fans High Speed

Fan Relays

The scan tool displays a Commanded State of None, Off or On. This allows you to communicate with the PCM to activate or deactivate the cooling fan 1 relay, manually turning the low speed fans On. After a 3 second delay the PCM will activate the cooling fan S/P relay and the cooling fan 2 relay. This turns the high speed fans On and Off.

Description

Fan Relay 1

Special Functions/Output Control/Cooling Fan

Activates the cooling fan relay 1. The normal commanded state of the fan relay is NONE. The relay command status can also be monitored on the scan tool data parameter FC Relay 1 Command. The PCM allows cooling fan relay control when the following conditions are met:

    • The ignition is ON or the engine is running
    • A/C compressor operation is not requested.
    • The engine coolant temperature is less than 106°C (224°F).

Fan Relays 2 and 3

Special Functions/Output Control/Cooling Fan

Activates the cooling fan relay 2 and relay 3. The normal commanded state of the fan relays is NONE. The relay command status can also be monitored on the scan tool data parameter FC Relay 2 and 3 Command. The PCM allows cooling fan relay control when the following conditions are met:

    • The ignition is ON or the engine is running
    • A/C compressor operation is not requested.
    • The engine coolant temperature is less than 106°C (224°F).
